Craftsbury Schools — School Board

Philosphy Statement

The public schools of Craftsbury belong to and are supported by the residents of this town.

The purpose of the Craftsbury Schools is to provide the educational opportunities that lead every child to fulfillment of his or her potential as a productive individual. School programs will seek to meet the needs and aspirations of the students and community. School courses should present the experience and wisdom of the past and the aspirations of the future.

Every child in this community has a right to, and a responsibility for, an education. We believe students must develop reading, writing, speaking, arithmetic, and reasoning skills as fully as their individual capacities allow. Other courses will widen and deepen these skills. Because it is patently impossible to anticipate human events, fundamental intellectual development remains the primary objective of formal education.
