H1N1 Influenza Information
As of right now we are planning to have our H1N1 flu clinic on Tuesday Dec. 15th at Hazen Union High School in Hardwick, time to be announced. The kids will be bussed over to Hardwick and I believe that includes, elementary, middle and high schoolers as well as eligible staff who have signed up for the vaccine. Younger children are encouraged to bring a stuffed animal or a book to distract them. There will be volunteers there to comfort and support students through the process. There will be another clinic a month later (date to be announced) for students under 10 years old who need a 2nd dose. All children are eligible for the vaccine. Staff must fall into one of the 5 high risk categories as stated on the flu information sheet under "Who should get the 2009 H1N1 influenza vaccine and when". And as always, if you have any questions concerning the H1N1 flu or the clinics, please contact the school nurse, Jen LaPoint, at 586-2541.
Volunteers Needed. We are looking for volunteers to help us out on Dec. 15th with the H1N1 flu clinic. We need people who would be able to spend the day (9am to 3pm) or any part of that day (for example 9am-noon) at Hazen helping to support the kids that come for their flu shots and the staff helping to run the clinic. We are also looking for a couple of volunteers to ride the bus with the younger kids to help give them a good start on their way to the clinic! If you're interested please call Jen LaPoint on a Mon. or Wed. here at school or give the info to Nan or Jane and Jen will call you back. Thank you very much! Jennifer
